What is Spike / BuddyUp?

Spike is a Valorant-focused buddy-up & accountability platform helping you find compatible teammates minus toxicity.

Example

You specify rank + playstyle and we surface players who match instead of random queue roulette.

Do I need to finish onboarding to use everything?

Yes. Portal & BuddyUp unlock after you set a Riot ID and rank.

Example

Finish the 7 profile slices (rank, roles, modes, etc.) to hit 100%.

Friend Requests & Connections

2

How do friend requests work?

Send a request; once accepted you become buddies and unlock visibility like Riot IDs (if enabled).

Example

If you send a request and it’s pending you’ll see a "Waiting" status until accepted.

Can I spam friend requests?

No. Spamming triggers rate limits and potential restrictions.

Example

Rapid-firing 20 requests in under a minute will start getting blocked.

Rules & Conduct

4

Is cheating / exploiting allowed?

Temp ban → Permanent ban

Absolutely not. First offense may be a temporary platform ban; repeated = permanent ban.

Example

Using wallhacks or external aim assistance means instant review & likely suspension.

What counts as harassment?

Warning → Mute → Suspension

Hate speech, slurs, targeted insults, repeated unwanted messages.

Example

Sending repeated insults after someone declines a match invite.

What about spam / flooding?

Rate limit → Feature lock → Ban

Mass sending requests or copy-pasting promotions is disallowed.

Example

Posting the same link in multiple chats or fake recruiting.

Respect privacy & platform policies

Warning → Access restriction

Don’t attempt to harvest private info or bypass visibility settings.

Example

Pressuring someone to reveal hidden Riot tagline.

Reporting & Punishments

2

How do I report a violation?

Use the Queries & Reports link (footer) to submit a report with proof.

Example

Scroll to the footer → tap 'Queries / Reports' → choose category → attach evidence (screenshots / clip) → submit.

What happens after I report?

Moderators review patterns (not just one incident) and may apply progressive penalties.

Example

A single mild message may get a warning; a pattern triggers mute or suspension.
